The Gay Info Line of New Hampshire began as an outreach program of the Concord Men’s Group in 1984. At that time there were few resources available to our community and even less information about them. But with dedicated determination, a database of gay service providers was started.

Four years later, the database and the Info Line continued to grow, but the Concord Men’s Group had ceased to exist. (more…)

Chronological Timeline of New Hampshire Freedom to Marry

Historical Foundation for work of NH Freedom to Marry (1985–1992): It is important to recognize the accomplishments of the GLBT organizing community prior to 1992, when the seeds of the fight for marriage really took root. Many of the leadership of these organizations were original board members, and continue as board members of NHFTM to this day. Our current Interim Director was a paid staff person for CAGLR. Our organizational capacity draws directly upon the experience and activities of these groups and people.

New Hampshire has a long and proud tradition of protecting individual rights and freedom, and we attribute many of our successes to that culture of privacy in the state. Many of the activities and accomplishments listed below laid a strong foundation for the inception and work of New Hampshire Freedom to Marry. (more…)
