Sunday will be the last show of the spring season for the New Hampshire Gay Men’s chorus. Visit the NHGMC website for show times. This year the NHGMC is performing songs of Cole Porter. I attended the Manchester concert a few weeks ago and I was impressed. Personally my all-time favorite Cole Porter song is Miss Otis Rergets, this solo performance was sung by David Sirota and was done beautifully. Another one of my favorites songs that was performed was the song Find Me A Primitive Man, I have never heard this song, but they did a fabulous job on it! After the show I tried to find a version on itunes to download and honestly I couldn’t find a version of that song on iTunes that I liked as much as the version sung by the NHGMC. This season, in addition to the piano, the chorus was accompanied by a percussionist.  This was a welcomed addition to the chorus.

So if you haven’t purchased your tickets yet, they are still on sale on their website and will be available at the door!

Governor

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

Today, May 31st, John Lynch, the Governor of New Hampshire, signed the Civil Union bill into law. So starting in January of 2008 gay and lesbian couples will able to commit to each other in a civil union and enjoy all the benefits of a straight married couple. This is great news for the State of New Hampshire and a positive step towards marriage equality.

I only wish the democratic presidential candidates would be as brave as Governor John Lynch and make marriage equality a priority in their 2008 campaigns. –>
