The
Wednesday, April 4th, 2007Today, New Hampshire’s house of Representitives voted to approve Civil Unions by a vote of 243-129. The bill had bi-partisan support and would give Gay and Lesbian couples all the rights enjoyed by married couples. This is the first step in the process, the Senate will now need to approve the bill and then the governor will need to sign it. Listen to this speech by Rep. Carole Estes and the applause it received from the house floor.
If this bill becomes law New Hampshire will join Vermont, New Jersey and Connecticut in allowing Civil Unions.
Of course the this is progress and I am very happy to hear it, but the ultimate goal would be in full support of Gay Marriage. I think in time that will come. –>
