Gay

I was web surfing today and came accross a blog by a Gay Christian. As I read through the posts I found the site to be an interesting read.  What bothered me was one of the comments posted to his post.

“How can you be a Christian and be gay?
If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. Leviticus 20:13″

Political

Here in New Hampshire the political arena starts early. So I thought I would start doing my research on the candidates.

First stop Hillary Clinton, I went to her website to find where she stands on issues like gay marriage, gays in the military, HIV and AIDS funding or even just gay rights in general. Much to my surprise I couldn’t find anything about these issues. I think it is reasonable to assume she would be a gay friendly candidate. Yet I would be surprised if she would openly support legalizing gay marriage, and since her husband created the “Don’t ask, Don’t tell” policy, I would be curious to know where she stands on that issue. Super

Friday, February 9th, 2007

So by now I’m sure you have all heard about the Snickers bar Super bowl ad that many have called homophobic. The uproar even made Mars inc. pull the ad for future viewing.  If you haven’t seen the ad it shows two men working under the hood of a car, one of the men opens a snickers bar and starts chomping on it while he contnues to work on the car.  The other man see the bar and starts chomping on the other end of the bar, thy continue eating the bar until their lips meet jut like Lady and the Tramp.  The men scream and jump away from each other, realizing they just accidently kissed one of the men suggests they do somethnig “manly”.  So each of the men open their shirts and rip off some of their chest hair.

Ok, so on some level this ad is homophobic, but most of all it’s just stupid!  You would think if a company was going to spend over 2 million for a 30 second ad they would do some research.  First of all, gay men watch the super bowl!  Not for the game, but for the commercials!  So while the straight men were going to the bathroom, getting another beer or looking for a refill of buffolo wings the gay men were sitting there watching this stupid ad.  But what I really don’t understand is why they think it is being “manly” by having the men pull hair from their chest. A guy removing hair from his chest is so GAY!  –>
