I was web surfing today and came accross a blog by a Gay Christian. As I read through the posts I found the site to be an interesting read.  What bothered me was one of the comments posted to his post. 

“How can you be a Christian and be gay?
If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. Leviticus 20:13″

Conversation

Some large steps forward this past few months some would say. The Rev. Gene Robinson. The Episcopal Church takes on the issue of having an openly gay man at the helm of the church. This may not be the first but it is definitely the first one that we know about. The leaps forward in coupling rights in California, Canada and then the silence from the Supreme Court of Massachusetts is deafening. What are they thinking why so long in the ruling? The media world seems to be on fire with the Queer Eye. Seems like when the Supreme Court took the sodomy laws from all the states now we can have a show with gay guys prancing around showing all the straight guys how wonderful it is to have five us all to their own. What can we make of all of this, how do we place it in our day-to-day lives? (more…)

I came upon an insect’s husk in the garden the other day: spied it clinging to the underarm of an iron lawn chair. Though curious, I hesitated to touch it, since the exoskeleton on the mother was so complete I thought it might spread cellophane jaws and clamp on my phiz as neatly as the alien did on John Hurt’s. But I looked closer: Sure, the living occupant had gone, leaving behind a chitinous shell. A thin slit on the nape revealed its exit route. Thoughts of the 17-year locust and The Beast Within occurred. I shivered and wondered what toothy slashings it might now be engaged in—what feasting on animal or vegetable flesh. (more…)
