NHPP is a statewide self-defense group that works to build bridges between
the shooting community and other communities, such as those based on
alternative sexualities. We include members from the GLBT, Polyamarous, and
BDSM communities, but you don’t need to be gay or have an alternative
sexuality to join and participate.

I asked organizer Ryan Marvin a few questions about the Pink Pistols in New Hampshire.

How large is your organization in New Hampshire?

The Pink Pistols are an open membership group, with no membership dues or requirements. One only has to call himself a member to be one. Between the Facebook, Myspace, and mailing list numbers I’d say there are about 100 members of the New Hampshire group, divided about equally between heterosexuals and members of the queer community. Since our recent media coverage, the numbers have been growing by about 5 people a day.

I was reading a local blog today which lead me to an interesting article from the Concord Monitor about a group that formed in New Hampshire called the Pink Pistols. You can read the article here.

From the article I read, the group has been “resurrected”, so I assume there was once a chapter in NH. The group is trying to help the GLBT community to arm themselves for self-defense and will be holding their first event on May 25th in Derfield.

I am going to write to the organizer of this group and see if he will give me more information, stay tuned for an update!
